Estroven® Ingredients
As well as a rich source of isoflavones, Estroven® also provides essential vitamins and minerals important for women before, during and after menopause.
Soy isoflavones
Isoflavones are naturally occurring compounds called phytoestrogens (or ‘plant oestrogens’) found in many plants, fruits, vegetables and cereals. The richest sources of foods containing isoflavones are pulses (legumes) such as lentils, chickpeas, soya and other beans. They have a similar chemical structure to oestrogen and therefore are thought to have similar effects within the body. Phytoestrogens are much weaker than oestrogen but it is believed that many women going through the menopause may help maintain good health and wellbeing by eating a diet high in natural isoflavones.
Vitamin E, B12 & Folic Acid
These nutrients are all known to help maintain a healthy heart and circulation, which becomes increasingly important as we age.
B Vitamins
B1, B2 and B3 help transform carbohydrates in our diet into energy. Additionally, B6 helps to maintain hormonal balance.
Calcium & Boron
Calcium is important for strong healthy bones and boron helps to support the metabolism of calcium by the body. At the time of menopause some women may experience an accelerated bone loss and additional calcium is often recommended to help maintain bone health.
Selenium
Selenium is an important antioxidant needed to maintain the healthy functioning of the immune system.
Iodine
Iodine is needed for the production of thyroid hormones.

Where do the isoflavones in Estroven come from?
The 55mg of isoflavones in Estroven are extracted from Japanese Arrowroot and Soya. Recent studies suggest that soy products that have a high level of isoflavones can be more effective at helping to support wellbeing during the menopause.
What are isoflavones?
Isoflavones are naturally occurring compounds found in many plants, fruits, vegetables and cereals. The richest source of foods containing isoflavones are pulses (legumes) such as lentils, chickpeas, soya and other beans. They have a similar chemical structure to oestrogen and therefore are thought to have similar physiological effects. For this reason, they are known as phytoestrogens (plant oestrogens). Many scientists believe that many women going through the menopause can help maintain good health and wellbeing by eating a diet high in natural isoflavones.
Can I get enough isoflavones from my diet?
Ideally, we should get enough isoflavones from dietary sources. However, surveys over recent years have shown the average UK diet tends to be very low in isoflavones and many of us do not eat enough of these types of foods to feel the health benefits of isoflavones.
